In June (9,10,11) we have organised the first edition of the Station To Station- international independent film event in Warsaw at the AMONDO Kino. The event was a gathering of passionate and talented independent emerging and award-winning filmmakers from around the whole world. 35 artists from more than 10 different countries (such as France, Bulgaria, Poland, UK, Scotland, India, Mexico, Germany, USA) submitted their film to be screened at the cinema in the center of Warsaw. The films were very diverse; short, experimental, narrative, abstract, documentary- most of them were hard to label, which is fantastic.

In respect to our beloved directors, such us Andrei Tarkovsky, Jonas Mekas, Maya Deren, Ingmar Bergman, Francois Truffaut, Stanley Kubrick, Chris Marker and Michelangelo Antonioni, we want to continue exploring the cinematic language in its emotional, moral and spiritual potential. We want to support and promote the independent filmmakers that share love, passion and respect towards art, literature, music, cinema and culture in general, as well as the individuals.

We have witnessed a wonderful international integration of so many talented soul-mates and artists; directors; producers; photographers; poets; musicians and simply friends. It's not a competition, it's not a business, it's not a rat race.

We are so grateful and honoured that we have received so much support and enthusiasm from so many intsititions and professionals in the industry. We have received a wonderful help from our parter - Plymouth College of Art, which covered the expenses for the alumni and we are so happy they could be in Warsaw and have such a great experience and the opportunity to screen their work worldwide. I can't think of any other college that would be so supportive and passionate and helfpul towards the graduates, we are so very grateful.
Our patron T-mobile New Horizons Film Festival and the Polish Film Institute have offered beautiful gifts for the directors and the AMONDO cinema has been a great co-organiser of the first edition of Station To Station and we all fell in love with this cool cinema with such a unique ambience. We aslo really enjoyed the live music gig by the 2nd Hand Beatnix! Everyone who has contributed to our fundraising campaign, as well as all the friends, supporters and artists: THANK YOU!

They are proving to be at the forefront of artists’ cinema creating challenging and genre-defying films, expanding the possibilities of cinema as an art form.

Plymouth College of Art is a specialist independent art school, run by artists for artists.

Founded in 1856, we offer a range of Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Pre-Degree study across Art, Design and Digital Media – combining over a century’s worth of history with up-to-the-minute thinking and cutting-edge facilities. More than 2,500 students study at our campus in the heart of Plymouth. Expert tutors share their expertise while encouraging students to develop their own creative strengths. We continue to invest heavily in specialist resources and facilities – for digital media and technology, as well as fine art and handcrafted traditions. Our college has strong links with the creative industries and wider community. So our students have the opportunity to connect with a range of artists and potential employers from day one.

One of the key components of the festival's mission is to present the achievements of the cinema masters and discover the works of those artists, who are less known, yet their work is of a tremendous importance for the creators of the festival.
